This synopsis supercedes all previous synopses. The successful offeror will provide all management and personnel for planning and staffing the functional areas of security and the operation of related facilities. The performance period will be for five years, including one base year and four, one-year options. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code is 7381, Detective, Guard and Armored Car Services. This procurement is a small business set-aside. The overall scope of work includes safeguarding personnel, protecting equipment, flight hardware, facilities and information, utilizing the limited arrest authority provided to NASA under 42 U.S.C. 2456(a). A draft RFP is currently posted on the Ames Procurement Home page for review. The anticipated date for release of the final solicitation RFP2-36272 is on or about August 4, 1997. Proposals will be due on or about September 4, 1997. When released, the solicitation will be available on the NASA, Ames Home Page at http://Procure.arc.nasa.gov/Acq/Acq.html.
