Z -- MENDENHALL LAKE CAMPGROUND/SKATERS CABIN SITE IMPROVEMENTS -- PHASE 1B, CHATHAM AREA SOL RFP R10-97-11 DUE 080397 POC Lisa Peterson or Eric Meyer, (907) 586-8880 The solicitation is to cover all construction activities for the utilities installation and trail construction project on the Mendenhall Lake Campground. Mendenhall Lake Campground is located approximately 12 miles from downtown Juneau, Alaska and approximately 5 miles from Juneau's Auke Bay Terminal of the Alaska Marine Highway. The project consists of: installation of underground sewer system with connection to the City and Borough of Juneau utilities network. This work entails the installation of 8" main, 4" force main, 6" and 4" main service lines with trenching and backfill, manholes, pump stations with valve vaults, RV campsite sanitary services, new central RV sanitary service with asphalt paved surfacing, and secondary electrical distribution to the pump stations. Work also includes construction of aggregate surface hiking trails and associated earthwork, construction of elevated boardwalk trail and viewing decks on helix pile supports, construction of timber and stone masonry trailhead markersand installation of government-furnished trail and interpretive signs. There are also two Additive Items consisting of construction of stone masonry walls at the (1) entrance area and (2) along the trail system. The estimated price range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. In addition to price, proposals will be evaluated on past performance, experience, and capacity. Contract time is 360 calendar days.
