Crawford, Contracting Officer, (919) 541-7685 The Government anticipates purchasing a clinically and laboratory y oriented genetics database -- Lab Director -- Genetics Information Management System (LD-GIMS) from the Oregon Health Sciences University. In addition to the LD-GIMS, the government also anticipates purchasing additional services to further customize the database specific to the needs of the National Human Genome Research Institute research efforts, train end-users, convert legacy (i.e. pre-existing) data and provide consultative services for the continued use and development of the database. This database is to facilitate the organization and direction of cases performed in a clinical genetics laboratory by providing tools which help manage the administrative and laboratory analysis operations. This is not a request for competitive proposals. The proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to satisfy the Government's requirement. A determination not to compete based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. SIC Code 7371 is applicable. See Note 22 (0198)
