Spec 317-298-1180 ext 1120 This is a modification to the SOURCES SOUGHT market survey to identify potential sources only. This synopsis is published pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation Subpart 5.205. Any formal solicitation will be announced separately. This synopsis is for planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. Respondents deemed fully qualified will be considered in any resultant solicitation. The U.S. Customs Service is seeking to identify the latest technology and sources available to write/adapt software for revenue reporting from approximately 130 locations through the 50 States and territories. The software will interface with a LAN system. The software is to be compatible with a PC Cash Register "set." The set can consists of the following components: Personnel Computer (hard drive and monitor), keyboard with two track magnetic strips with a wand, printer, cash drawer, slip receipt journal printer, and a check reader. Sources are sought who have the expertise give consultation on best procedures for ADP procedures and who can also can write/adapt revenue reporting software, purchase compatible equipment, install approximately 2 -- 350 computer sets, and train U.S. Customs personnel to efficiently utilize software and equipment to report software. Sources will also be asked to provide software support and equipment maintenance to locations for approximately six months after site installation. Demonstration of present software/equipment/services utilized by Customs will be held at a sources sought conference at U.S. Customs Service, Field Procurement Services Group, 6026 Lakeside Blvd, Indianapolis, IN 46278 on August 12th, 1997 at 9:00 A.M. Sources are invited to provide brochures/catalogs of their services/products available to the public/ All products and services must be commercially available at the time of this synopsis is published. Only technical literature and related information on currently available and marketed software that specifically addresses the agency needs should be provided.
