FOR DOD ACQUISITION CATEGORY I WEAPON SYSTEM POC John Martin, Contract
Specialist, (703) 492-3329 The Marine Corps Systems Command intends to
award a contract to Pollution Prevention Planning, Inc. of Stafford, VA
to provide analyses and recommendations on Environmental, System Safety
and Health Hazards (ESH) issues relating to the Marine Corps Advanced
Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAAV) program. The contractor will provide
expert advisory and assistance services to the Marine Corps Direct
Reporting Program Manager -- Advanced Amphibious Assault (DRPM-AAA) in
the area of DoD Acquisition Category (ACAT) I weapon system pollution
prevention for the AAAV currently being designed and developed under
the AAAV Demonstration/Validation R&D Contract M67854-96-C-0038. Tasks
include providing ESH program assessments and recommendations,
evaluating and supporting prime contractor (General Dynamics Amphibious
Systems) and subcontractor ESH contract data deliverables, updating the
AAAV Programmatic Environmental Analysis (PEA) and Programmatic ESH
Evaluation (PESHE), maintaining the AAAV ESH Library, participating in
ESH Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) at the AAAV Technology Center in
Woodbridge, VA and conducting National Environmental Protection Act
(NEPA) analysis and preparing documentation. Travel to AAAV sites such
as Camp Pendleton, CA; Camp Lejeune, NC; and Naval Air Station,
Patuxent River, MD to determine environmental impacts may be necessary.
