The Defense Supply Service-Washington (DSS-W) intends to negotiate a sole source firm-fixed-priced contract with BTG, Inc., 3877 Fairfax Ridge Road, Fairfax, VA 22030-7448, for information technology (IT) technical services. These commercial services include managing a user Help Desk and providing user training on commercial off-the-shelf (CORTS) and application software for the Information Management Support Center (IMCEN) located in the Pentagon. IMCEN provides all information management support and services internal to the Headquarters, Department of the Army, and its assigned agencies and activities. The period of performance is 15 August 1997 through 28 September 1997, with a possible extension through 30 September 1997 solely at the discretion of the Government. There will be only one (1) award for this requirement. This contract represents a bridge procurement pending a new, competitive acquisition. BTG, Inc. is the incumbent contractor. The Government estimates that approximately 3,320 manhoursof labor will be necessary to perform this requirement. This synopsis should not be considered either an RFQ or an RFP. Firms having the ability to provide these services shall respond in writing within five (5)days of this notice with complete and detailed documentation showing their company's ability to meet this requirement. Contractors shall include pricing with their responses to this synopsis. Telephonic responses will not be considered. The Contracting Officer may determine that a solicitation may be issued. If a solicitation is issued, no additional synopsis will be published. (0202)
