RFQ70122-NS DUE 081297 POC Patricia Haun, Contracting Officer
301-496-8613 The National Cancer Institute (NCI) Cellular and Clinical
Pharmacology Section plans to procure a liquid
chromatography/atmospheric mass detection system from Waters
Corporation, 34 Maple Street, Milfor, MA 01757. The Waters HPLC system
is the oly system known which offers the following characteristics and
associated benefits: 1) quaternary gradient flow rates from 0.03 ml/min
to 5 ml/min withoutpressure pulsation or compositional ripple, which
allows for a greater range of analytical conditions, including
narrow-bore and micro-bore chromatography which will conserve HPLC
solvents and yield greater sensitivity; 2) a pumping system be
constructed with serial flow between two independently driven pump
heads and a pump stroke which is automatically adjustable for
optimization of flow precision at varying flow rates and allows the
greatest accuracy of solvent flow which is necessary for low flow
chromatography such as narrow-bore and LC/MS, 3) an integrated 4
channel vacuum degasser which eliminates the need for helium tanks for
sparging, saves space and eliminates the hazard of compressed gas
cylinders in the laboratory; 4) controlled by Millennium chromatography
software which simplifies the transfer of related data from one
computer to the other for ease in analyzing data; 5) utilization both
Electro spary and Apcl interface technologies which allows for
increased flexibility in sample analysis; 6) capable of detecting 10 pg
of a reference standard such as reserpine, which allows for high
sensitivity analysis of drug metabolites and 7) have an automated
divert valve, which allows for simplified use of existing HPLC as a
stand alone iinstrument when Mass Spec analysis is not required, thus
preventing the dedication of an HPLC system and removes the need to
purchase an additional HPLC system for future needs. This notice of
intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however, if any
interested party believes they can meet the above requirements, they
may submit a statement of capabilities and a detailed description of
the machines capabilities. Information furnished shall include enough
material, in sufficient detail, to perform a proper evaluatiion of
their ability to perform and must be received within 20 days of the
publication of this notice. See Note 22. (0203) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0386 19970724\66-0021.SOL)
