LICENSING OPPORTUNITY/GROUNDWATER REMEDIATION TECHNOLOGY Lockheed Martin Idaho Technologies Company (LMITCO), a management and operating contractor for the Department of Energy (DOE) at the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory (INEEL)is seeking interest in the licensing of a technology. The INEEL has developed a groundwater remediation technology to remove Dense Non-Aqueous Phase Liquids (DNAPLS) from contaminated aquifers. This technology is an improvement over pump and treat by orders of magnitude, both in clean-up time and cost. This technology provides the ability to predict and manipulate the vertical migration of contaminants and, therefore, removes the concern over uncontrolled vertical migration, even in aquifers not underlain by a clay aquiclude.
