E-MAIL: Click here to contact the POC via e-mail., tmiller@adpansia.org. The 7th US-Sweden Defense Industry Conference will be held in Stockholm, Sweden on 15-17 September 1997. The conference objectives are for participants to obtain a firsthand review of Swedish Procurement Strategy, Future Acquisitions for the Swedish Armed Forces, the impact of US Acquisition Policy, and to enhance US-Sweden defense cooperation, technology transfer, and trade. Specifically, the Ministry of Defense of Sweden will discuss major acquisition programs that will occur over the next decade. The conference is being organized by the Swedish Trade Council, the American Defense Preparedness Association/National Security Industrial Association (ADPA/NSIA), and the Swedish Federation of Defense Industries. The conference will be held in conjunction with the Ministry of Defense of Sweden and the Department of Defense of the United States' annual bilateral MOU committee meeting. In addition senior US Department of State and Defense officials will address the forum. The extensive program includes: plenary sessions to discuss Swedish acquisition strategy and policy as well as defense cooperation and trade; pre-arranged individual meetings by US industry representatives with Swedish government agency officials and representatives of Swedish industry; and, on site visits to three Swedish defense companies, including two outside Stockholm. Transportation for the on site visits will be coordinated and provided by the Ministry of Defense.
