the establishment of an annual requirements contract for the sale of
the following scrap metals generated by the Naval Aviation Repair
Depot, Jacksonville, FL listed by type of scrap material and estimated
annual poundage: aluminum, mixed/152,938; brass, heavy yellow/2,530;
casters/3,955; chrome alloy/1,225; cobalt/13,565; copper/700; copper,
beryllium/90; electrical motors/6,430; electrical wire/15,035;
electrical wire, aircraft/2,765; electrical scrap/2,742; steel,
mixed/466,874; steel, high temperature, mixed/97,166; kurksite alloy
(zinc)/12,780; magnesium/3,125; nickel alloy/4,950; stainless
steel/12,457; titanium/47,349; zinc alloy/11,665; nickel plasma
powder/696; and steel shot/125,000. Each type may contain multiple
grades and chemical/metallurgical compositions. Pricing for ferrous
scrap will be based on plus or minus the market value show in the
American Metal Market for the Birmingham Market on the first working
day of the month in which the order is placed. Pricing for non-ferrous
scrap will be based on the market value show in the American Metal
Market for the Birmingham Market on the day the order is placed. The
successful offeror will be responsible for providing all equipment
picking up and transporting the scrap from the Naval Aviation Repair
Depot, Jacksonville, FL (aboard the Naval Air Station, Jacksonville,
FL). Potential offerors will be permitted to inspect and take samples
of the scrap material prior to submittal of their offers. Ferrous scrap
is being solicited on the basis of a 100% set aside for small business
concerns. The non-ferrous scrap is being solicited on an unrestricted
basis. The ordering period for the basic contract will run from 1
October 1997 through 30 September 1998. The contract will contain an
option to extend the ordering period for one additional year. Any
requests for copies of this solicitation must be made in writing to the
