Nelson, 202/874-5040 The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has a requirement for federal or research library services as follows: 1) on-site original cataloging using OCLC and DataTrek software by librarians; and, 2) circulation and interlibrary loan (ILL) work using DataTrek software. The cataloger must have the following educational requirements: 1) a master's degree in library science, including at least two courses in cataloging from an American Library Association accredited school; 2) a minimum of two years experience in cataloging with DataTrek and OCLC doing original cataloging of monographs and serials; and, 3) knowledge of the Library of Congress classification system and Anglo-American cataloging rules, 2nd version. The technician must have at least a high school diploma and must have the working knowledge of both the OCLC and the DataTrek circulation system or a similar automated circulation system. Both positions are part-time, and the work will be accomplished at OCC Headquarters in Washington, DC. The OCC will evaluate past performance of each proposing company, as well as the qualifications, knowledge, and work experience of the persons proposed to fill the key positions of the contract. The proposed contract will be a firm-fixed price, labor hour contract. This Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued using Full and Open Competition Rules. Solicitation CC-97-R-0017 is anticipated to be released by the middle of August.
