The contractors that have responded to the early solicitation will be given a copy of the amended solicitation. All new contractor's that request a copy of the new solicitation will be given a copy. This is a small business set a-side. NSN: 4940p2624-A, Blast unit, portable bead blast system, a self contained, trailer mounted plastic media stripping centilation system with H.E.P.A. filter a portable, trailer mounted, self-contained plastic media stripping/ventilation system. Portable aircraft stripping/ventilation system shall include pressure plastic media blast equipment; media recovery, cleaning and classification system; dust collection system, ventilation equipment for work enclosure; and all other controls, piping, valves, etc. required for a fully operational system. Pressure vessel shall include a 60 psi maximum pressure relief valve to minimize accidental operation at higher pressures. The vessel shall have aconical bottom with a slope of 60 degrees. A 6" x 8" handhole with pressure rated cover shall be provided for maintenance access. All air piping for the pressure vessel shall be 1 1/4" inside diameter minimum. The contractor shall provide a low profile "sweep-in" collection hopper connected to the centrifuge separator 5" minimum diameter vacuum hose. Collection hopper shall be a minimum 2' w x 2' l x 6" high. Cyclone separator which through centrifugal action separates the blast media from the conveying air stream and collects oversized debris in the filter screen and deposits reusable media into the storage hopper section. Cyclone separator shall have the capacity to process a minimum of 900 ft per minute. Media storage hopper shall have a minimum capacity of six (6) ft and shall be constructed from a minimum 12 gauge sheet steel. Dust collection system shall be of the dry cartridge type system with continuous on-line cleaning by high velocity compressed air jets. The dust collection/ventilation system shall include a H.E. P. A. exhaust filter to final filter the air before it is exhausted into the atmosphere of the aircraft repair hangars. The trailer shall provide space for mounting two (2) Government furnished thirty (30) gallon steel drums directly below the dust hopper discharge chutes. Retainers to hold the drums in place during travel shall be provided. The trailer with all equipment installed shall not exceed 4' -- 6' in width and 12' in length. Overall height of shall not exceed 12' -6". The approximate issue/response date will be 28 July 1997. Offers are due 11 Aug 1997. Anticipated award date will be 15 Aug 1997. (0205)
