Park Service (NPS), Nez Perce National Historical Park, is soliciting
proposals from qualified anthropological contractors or contract
organizations to conduct an Ethnographic Overview and Assessment of
American Indian use of resources in Wallowa County, Oregon, and that
southern portion of Asotin County, Washington, draining into the Grande
Ronde River. Conduct of the Study will require the provision of
research services and the production of certain deliverables which are
summarized as follows: a) the identification of ethnographic resources
through a systematic literature review, including an exhaustive search
for published and non-published sources; and, b) the preparation and
submittal of a professional quality report that provides a synthetic
overview of American Indian ethnographic resources within the studied
region. FURTHER DETAILS on required professional research services and

FOLLOWING CRITERIA will be used in the evaluation of the prospective
contractors and research teams: 1) Experience and expertise in the
conduct of anthropological research among North American Indians. 2)
Demonstration of success in work with members of contemporary American
Indian communities. 3) Specialized experience and technical expertise
within the last three years on anthropological projects among tribes
in the Southern Columbia Plateau cultural area of North America. 4)
Demonstrated success in the management and completion of
anthropological research projects. 5) Professional qualifications of
the contractor and staff proposed for the performance of the contract,
including educational accomplishment and participation in professional
associations. 6) Proximity to the geographic region in which the study
will take place or demonstrated ability to engage in required travel
to engage in all necessary research activities. GOVERNMENT ESTIMATED
