Willis, Contracting Officer (407) 494-4394 The Government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Automatic Prescriptions Systems Inc of Pineville LA 71361 for the following requirement: Lease of Automatic Drug Counters at Patrick AFB FL to include: a) 514 ea drug cell with LED readout; b) 4 ea computer links; c) 2 ea super cell with LED readout; and d) 8 ea data-com remote. The remote unit must activate the drug cell to dispense by digital light emitting diode (LED) readout for the exact amount of medication needed. Standard drug cells must be capable of holding a minimum of 300 tablets/capsules. Each standard drug cell must be capable of counting any tablet or capsule authorized to be sold and dispensed by the Food and Drug Administration. The drug cell must be electronically operated and have the capability to count a minimum of 200 tablets/capsules a minute. Super cells must have a larger hopper capable of holding 5,000 to 10,000 tablets/capsules. The contractor must provide a toll free number for technical assistance and repair information. Contractor must be able to provide replacement cells within 72 hours of notification. The performance period for this requirement includes a basic year (1 Oct 97 through 30 Sep 98) plus four, one-year option periods of performance. The applicable SIC code for this acquisition is 7352 and the small business size standard is $3.5M. Request all prospective contractors having the capability or the ability to acquire such capability submit detailed documentation of their technical capabilities and pricing information to: 45 CONS/LGCV, ATTN: SSgt Steedley, 1201 Minuteman St M/S 7200, Patrick AFB FL 32925-3237. The literature provided must sufficiently demonstrate the ability to meet the above requirement. A statement such as "can provide" is not adequate. Responses must be received 15 days after the date of publication of this notice. Patrick AFB will not pay or otherwise reimburse respondents for information submitted. As a result of analyzing responses to this synopsis, the Contracting Officer may determine that a solicitation will be issued. If a solicitation is issued, no additional synopsis will be published.
