all equipment, personnel, supplies, fuel, maintenance, and supervision
to perform various paving construction and repair activities. Work
will consist of preparation of raw subgrade, road shoulder repair, new
base course (in place), scarifying and reshaping base course, one
course surface treatment, two course surface treatment, hot mix asphalt
(type C), hot mix asphalt (type D), bituminous tack coat, bituminous
prime coat, pavement patching, sealing joints and cracks in pavement,
asphalt emulsion slurry seal. Estimated Cost Range: $500,000.00 to
$1,000,000.00. Specifications are $15.00 per copy, there are no
drawings. Requests by mail must include payment in the applicable
amount by company check or money order made payable to Finance &
Accounting Officer, USAED, FTW and mailed to USACE, ATTN: Room 1A01,
819 Taylor Street, P.O. Box 17300, Fort Worth, Texas 76102-0300.
Request in person may be paid by cash. NO EXPRESS MAIL PROCEDURES WILL
BE UTILIZED ON INITIAL MAILING OF PLANS AND SPECS. No refund will be
made and materials need not be returned. If project is cancelled or no
award is made, cost of plans and specifications will be refunded only
upon written request. Solicitation to be issued on or about 08 August
1997 with bid opening on or about 08 September 1997. The terms of the
contract will consist of a one-year base period and two one-year
renewal options. Offers from all qualified business concerns are
solicited. If a large business firm is selected, the firm must comply
with FAR 52.219-9 regarding the requirement of subcontracting plan.
Fort Worth District's goals are that a minimum of 55.0% of the
contractor's total intended subcontracted amount be placed with small
businesses (including small disadvantaged and woman-owned businesses);
8.5% of the total subcontracted amount be placed with small
disadvantaged businesses; 3.0% of the total subcontracted amount be
placed with woman-owned businesses; and 5.5% of the total subcontracted
amount be placed with historically black colleges or
universities/minority institutions (where applicable). SIC code for
