Johnson, Contracting Officer, (813) 398-9340 Provide all labor, materials, etc. required to upgrade window storm protection for Buildings 1 and 100 at the VA Medical Center, Bay Pines, Florida to meet the following requirements: window glazing system must pass Dade County protocol PA 201 on 1/4" glass and Dade County protocol PA 203 with a +65 PSF and -85 PST. All aluminum strapping attachment must be fabricated from 6063-T5 aluminum and must be color matched to existing frames. Firms submitting proposals will be evaluated on method in which windows will be brought up to standards for each general application, ease of utilization (in place protection vs. system which requires install/de-install), maintaining functionality of windows, aesthetics, installation method (potential for disruption of paitent care activity), maintenance requirements, testing method/facilities, price and other factors. Cost range between $250,000 and $500,000. Solicitation will be available on or about 8-15-97 and proposals will be due on or about 9-16-97.
