The National Instiutes of Health (NIH) National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) has a requirement to purchase digital camera, Kodak DCS-460c, and a 520 MB PCMCIA Type III (or larger) storage card or equivalent a competitive basis. The instrument will be used to acquire and store digital pictures at 7.5-300X magnification from an existing Nikon microscope. The specifications that must be met for this camera are as follow. (1) NIDDK requires a camera with an imager capable of 2036 x 3060 pixels, (2) 36-bit color (3) total resolution of 6 million pixels (file size 18 megabytes (4) maximum image size 9 x 13.4 (5) ISO equivalent rating of 80 (comparable to or more sensitive than color film (6) Nikon F-mount adapter, (7) burst rate of 2 images per seconds with an 8 second pause for image storage, autofocus, automatic exposure, metering modes, flash and self-timing, (8) 520 MB or larger PCMCIA Type III storage card for images and SCSI interface compatible with Power Macintosh.
