PLATINUM. SOL 263-95-Q(M5)-0166 DUE 080497 POC Contact Purchasing Agent
Sabrina Lindsay on 301-496-3704. The Department of Nuclear Medicine,
CC, NIH, is developing novel DNA-based radiopharmaceuticals for
targeting eukaryotic genes using trilex-forming oligonucleotides (TFO)
labeled with Auger-electron emitters (AE). Upon binding to a DNA
target sequence in the genome, AE labeled TFOs introduce
double-stranded breaks into intracellular DNA. The accumulation of
double-stranded breaks in genomic DNA can result in deletion of the
target sequence or have consequences such as the induction of apoptosis
and cell death. (0206) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0007 19970729\A-0007.SOL)
