(301) 402-3406 NIH intends to negotiate and award, on a sole source
basic, a contract to provide labor and material for inspections,
maintenance, preventive maintenance, repairs, and emergency services
for two (2) Government owned SOMAT, waste handling system in their
entirety to Somat Corp., 855 Fox Chase, Coatesville, Pa. 19320. This
action is being taken under the authority of 41
U.S.C.253(c)(1)(FAR6.302-1(b)(1)). The firm will be required to
performed by factory trained mechanics, thoroughly knowledgeable and
qualified in the maintenance requirements and repair procedures of the
Somat Waste Handling System or, have at least three (3) years of
experience serving SOMAT waste handling equipment. The maintenance,
repairs, and inspections shall be performed by the contractor and,
unless otherwise stated, applies to all equipment and components
comprising a Waste Handling System. This includes, but is not limited
to, motors, pumps conveyers, cutters, cutter blocks, impellers, air
pumps, solenoids, motorized valves, screw assembling, wiring and
piping, switches, lenses and controllers. Work performed shall be such
as to properly protect all equipment from deterioration and to provide
peak performance of all systems, resulting in a minimum of down time on
the units. NIH believes that the above reference firm is the only
source that can provide preventive maintenance on SOMAT Waste Handling
System. The contract shall be for one year with four (4) options for
additional years. Any other firm that feels they are qualified to
provide such services must submit by the response date (45 calendar
days from date of this publication) a detailed capability statement
documenting their ability to provide this services by meeting the
requirements stated above. Information furnished shall include enough
material to perform a proper evaluation. Respondents will not be
notified of the evaluation results. Closing date will be 45 calendar
