The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to enter into a Sole-Source contract with Clestra Hauserman, of Arlington, VA, under the authority of 41 USC 253(c) (1) -- Only One Responsible Source. The procurement involves (1) Clestra Hauserman Designer Wall Components for partitions, with 9'3" ceiling height -- the partition system shall consist of panels with 5" unitized base and floor channel, overlapping ceiling channel, and post cap connections. There are 41 5/8", 28 1/2" and 8" mini-end panels, along with wall and celing channels, and post caps and other accessories. The 9'-3" panels will be mounted beneath acoustical tile glued to the concrete slab above. These panels will be the dividing partitions between rooms. The color of these partitions and all wall components, except base and doors, shall match Fed. Spec #27722 (Hauserman color 1242). The base and doors shall be painted to match Bruning Paint Co. Color #4012T Greystone (Hauserman color 3281); and (2) Clestra Hauserman Double Wall Partition Components, painted to match the factory standard Warm White Color. These Designer Wall partition components and Double Wall partition components are to be used for future modification of rooms at the NIST Gaithersburg, MD facility. The components are required to be completely interchangeable with the existing Clestra Hauserman components that are installed at this facility. The new components are required to be identical to the existing Clestra Hauserman components so as to permit rearrangements at the least cost and with minimum disruptions of normal functions. Delivery is required at the NIST Gaithersburg, MD facility within six weeks after receipt of order and shall be no later than September 30, 1997. Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received within 15 days after the date of publication of this synopsis, will be considered by the Government. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill the requirement. A solicitation will not be issued. See Note 26. (0209)
