Building 38A, Room B1N17, 8600 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, MD 20894 76 -- THE RICHARD KRAFFT-EBING ARCHIVE SOL RFP NLM 97-210/DJH POC
Daniel J. Hartinger, 301/496-6546 The synopsis for SOL RFP 97-210/DJH
in the Commerce Business Daily issue of July 24, 1997 formerly entitled
"An Archive of Richard Von Krafft-Ebing's Personal Case History File
and Personal Papers" is revised to change the name of the acquisition
to "The Richard Krafft-Ebing Archive", and shall read as follows: It is
the intent of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) to negotiate with
the Krafft-Ebing family and its agent on a sole source basis for a
firm fixed-price type contract for the acquisition of the "The Richard
Krafft-Ebing Archive" which was assembled over a thirty-year period by
Krafft-Ebing, a noted German psychiatrist of the 1800's. Included in
the archive are case histories of patients of Krafft-Ebing's;
manuscripts, letters from patients and colleagues; publications; and
miscellaneous books and galley sheets. There is no other source for
these unique documents. This notice of intent is not a Request For
Proposals (RFP), nor is an RFP available. Based on authority cited in
41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) (FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)), award to the Krafft-Ebing
family and its agent for this contract without full and open
competition is planned. (See numbered Notes 22 and 26.) (0206) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0384 19970730\76-0001.SOL)
