COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JULY 30,1997 PSA#1898HSC/PKRH, 7909 Lindbergh Drive, Brooks AFB, Tx 78235-5352 A -- MODELING, SIMULATION, AND AIRCREW FATIGUE RESEARCH IN SUPPORT OF
SUSTAINED OPERATIONS POC Phyllis J. Morse, Contracting Officer The Air
Force Research Laboratory (Armstrong Laboratory), Crew Systems
Directorate, Crew Technology Division, intends to contract on a Sole
Source basis with Systems Research Laboratories to increase the ceiling
value of the contract by $6,400,000.00 from $14,052,000.00 to
$20,452,000.00. This action will not extend the period of performance
of this contract which ends 25 September 2000. This contract provides
for scientific, engineering, and technical research and research
support in performance research and measurement, simulation, and human
factors in sustained and continuous operations. Performance research
and measurement include circadian rhythms, aerospace stressors and
fatigue; computer and simulation programming is required for high
fidelity-interactive visual scenarios, networked realistic battle
scenarios involving multiple humans in remote locations, high-speed
wide-band networks, design of virtual reality workstations, extraction
of research data collected on computers in operational settings,
simulators and aircraft, and other specialized programming functions;
human factors involves conducting human computer interaction
experiments aimed at designing more effective and efficient user
interfaces on control consoles, and human factors/cognitive psychology
for modeling human command and control tasks. See numbered Note 22.
