Research, experiementation and prototype into the preventative and
predictive mainenance of re-manufacturing rotary-wing test equipment.
The primary objective of this project is to develop a state-of-the-art
PPMES on the Corpus Christi Army Depot's (CCAD) whirltower and
autoclave. The resulting system will ensure that breakdowns and defects
are minimized, equipment operation rates are improved, life cycle costs
are reduced, equipment life is extended,trouble- shooting is improved,
spare and replacement parts inventory minimized, and as a consequence,
labor productivity for production/mission essential equipment is
increased. The system will automate equipment utilization, monitoring
and tracking of key sources of machine deterioration, data gathering
and statistical analysis capability, an optimized work schedule per
machine, and generate reports such as lists of throughput, rejects,
lost revenue, cost per unit per machine, and an optimized production
sequence of workload units. The system shall perform the real-time data
analysis and give warning signals to machine operators for operations
that have reached a point where restoration work must be performed.
This is a Manufacturing Technology (MANTECH) project and, as such, all
research findings will be made available for wide dissemination to
both the public and private sector. Contract type will be
cost-reinbursement (NO FEE) with cost-sharing features. Award will be
based on best value to the Government. Solicitation to be issued on or
about 13 August 1997. Due to the technology transfer requirement and
cost-sharing features, this project is geared toward academia, and all
higher educational institutions are encouraged to participate;
however, all responsible sources may submit an offer which will be
considered. (0209) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0015 19970730\A-0015.SOL)
