information purposes only: The United States Postal Service is
negotiating with Amdahl, EMC, IBM, and Vion to provide IBM OS/390
mainframe storage products, with upgrades, installation of equipment,
documentation, and maintenance with the capability of 3.0 Terabytes for
each site. The initial disk storage units are to be delivered and
installed at the San Mateo Computer Operations Service Center, San
Mateo California and the Raleigh Hot Site, Raleigh, NC. by 10/30/97. A
subsystem with disk storage will not be larger than 79 square feet for
each 800 Gigabytes of storage. All mandatory configuration featured
models initial disk storage subsystems, must be available effective
09/30/97. Units provided to the Postal Service must be new and
