Robinson, (410) 997-6225 The scope of work is to complete design/engineering from 30% complete to 100% and to construct a new approximately 19,400 SF new main post office building on a 4 acre site. Work includes a retail store, workroom, loading dock and equipment, support areas, and covered carrier parking. The building will be constructed using a steel frame, metal stud with brick exterior walls, concrete slab on grade, four ply built-up roof system, glazed entrance canopy and open loading areas, metal stud and gypsum board interior partitions and acoustical ceilings. Complete plumbing HVAC and electrical systems will include roof top units, power, lighting, and alarm systems, two security camera systems, and USPS requirements. Also included in the development of the 4 acre site is parking for customers, employees, postal vehicles, loading dock maneuvering area, mail drop box lane, and complete landscaping, fencing and signage. Site development includes paying/obtaining all permits, tap connections and utility connections/development. As part of the solicitation, the USPS is furnishing certain preliminary drawings, surveys and other items to describe the extent to the quality of the work required. The design and construction of the subject facility shall meet or exceed the level of quality indicated in these documents. As part of the work of the contract, the design/build entity shall verify that any design based upon the furnished documents fully complies with applicable codes and ordinances. The estimated price range is between $1,700,000 and $2,300,000 with completion within 300 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Proposals are due by 4:00 PM on September 03, 1997.
