The Naval Air Systems Command intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with ITT Night Vision, 7635 Plantation Road, Roanoke, VA 24019, for AN/AVS-9 Night Vision Goggles (NVG), P/N 264358-8, NSN 5855-01-433-3157, and for related support requirements. NAVAIR intends to procure approximately 600 NVGs in FY98 plus associated spares, repairs, technical manuals, data, and contractor support, with an option for approximately 750 NVGs in FY99. ITT Night Vision is the designer, developer, and sole manufacturer of the NVGs used by the Navy and the only known firm that possesses the requisite experience, production capability and technical expertise to meet the Navy's unique technical requirements within the required time frame.
