(NAVSEA) is seeking sources for the e design, development, testing, and
manufacture of supplies for use in upgrading and/or replacing existing
Navy towed systems. These towed systems interface with various
shipboard sonar and combat systems on various classes of US Navy
submarines, surface ships, and surveillance ships. The "towed systems"
include sensor arrays, towed cables, mechanical handling equipment,
signal paths, in board electronics interfacing equipment; ancillary
hardware, software, and firmware; and related test equipment.

Page where a draft solicitation will be posted on approximately 01
August 1997. To obtain a copy of the draft solicitation, access our

specifications will be available on approximately 30 August 1997;
procedures for ordering copies of the draft specifications will be
posted on our home page with the draft solicitation. From time to time,
other notices may also be posted with the draft solicitation. These
notices may advise of specification updates and revisions, invite
interested parties to pre-solicitation briefings and/or product
planning meetings, or provide answers to questions or other information
affecting this procurement; however, no further CBD announcements are
planned prior to release of the formal solicitation. Interested parties
are encouraged to obtain the draft solicitation and to periodically
check this Web site for information related to this requirement.

responding to the formally released solicitation will be considered.
