The real property comprising Government owned electrical, water, sewer, gas, and telephone distribution systems at Fort Missoula are available to party/parties interested in acquiring, operating, maintaining, repairing, and replacing the above systems at Fort Missoula, Missoula, Montana. Fort Missoula, Missoula, Montana, was identified for closure under the Base Closure and Realignment Act of 1995. As part of the closure and Department of Defense utility privatization initiatives, Government Owned Utility Systems are being made available to interested parties and utility providers interested in providing continuing service to the follow on users. Follow on users at Fort Missoula include the Army Reserve, Army National Guard, U.S. Forest Service, and Norther Rockies Heritage Center, among others. On February 13, 1997, Northern Rockies Heritage Center sponsored a meeting in Missoula County offices with representatives of the Army, State, County, City, private utility companies, and other known interested parties to discuss the Army's plan to dispose of the utility systems and to seek input from local utility providers for continued service to the follow on users. The purpose of this solicitation is to seek interest from other parties capable of acquiring and operating the governments utility systems and providing continuing utility services to this area.
