V -- LAUNDRY TRANSPORT SOL IFB 644-6-98 DUE 091797 POC Robert Yarnell, Contracting Officer (602) 222-2707 Contractor to furnish driver and tractor to pull government owned trailers for the distribution of clean and soiled laundry round trip to VA Medical Center, Tucson, Arizona three (3) times a week and VA Medical Center, Prescott, Arizona two (2) times a week -- holidays included. Twice a year Contractor shall provide one additional tractor and driver for pick up and delivery to VAMC Tucson and VAMC Prescott for laundry inventory. The distribution of laundry shall include, but is not limited to, transportation of clean and soiled laundry, sanitation of the trailers, backing into loading docks, switching trailers, loading and off-loading carts from trailer, and pulling trailers to and from local service centers for maintenance. The Government will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the trailers. The Contractor shall maintain his equipment to comply with Arizona Department of Transportation standards. The Contractor shall provide and carry own insurance to include full liability for vehicle and cargo. The Contractor shall also be responsible for following and abiding by all laws, rules and regulations of the Federal, State, and County Governments. The approximate average weights are: Tucson-6,200 pounds and Prescott-4,600 pounds. The contract is for one base year with two (2), one (1) year options.
