The FAA, Great Lakes Region, has a requirement for constructing ILS/MALSR components at various sites throughout the states of North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio during the time period beginning August 1, 1997 and going through September 30, 1998. The procuerment values and performance periods vary with each site. The FAA will send a questionaire to those contractors who are interested in qualifying as a vendor on these projects during the above time period. The questionaire will be utilized in determining the firms most qualified to perform on these projects and subsequently receive a Request For Offer. If you have successfully completed 2 or more ILS and/or ALS components, excluding PAPIs, VASIs or REILs in the last 3 years, please respond to this notice before close of business on August 7, 1997. This notice is for information purposes for Minority, Women-Owned & Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small & Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist minority, women-owned & disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short term working capital & bonding assistance for transportation related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance & payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to surety against loses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
