Z -- FIRE DETECTION/SUPPRESSION SYSTEM AND MISCELLANEOUS REPAIRS AT BUILDING NO. 8 SOL N62472-97-B-3018 POC For plans and specifications call, (908) 323-2494 The solicitation announcement for this acquisition which appeared in the CBD dated 6/10/97 is revised as follows: Synopsis: The work includes all material, equipment, labor and supervision, under a Firm Fixed Price Contract, Base Bid and One Bid Option, for the installation of a fire sprinkler, detection system and building upgrades for NFPA compliance. The solicitation specs and plans refer to Bid Option 1 for the installation of an exit door in a masonry wall; however, bidders are advised to that all references in the solicitation plans and specs for Bid Option 1 are hereby deleted and should not be bid. Bid Option 2 includes renovations to restroom facilities and incidental related work. Performance period for Bid Option 2 shall be as follows: if awarded within 120 calendar days of the base bid the contract completion date shall be extended 150 calendar days, however the period of performance for the base bid work is fixed and shall be completed within the original 120 calendar days. The contract includes the clause titled "Evaluation of Options" (FAR 52.217-5) Except when determined in accordance with FAR 17.206(b) not to be in the Government's best interest, the Government will evaluate offers for award purposes by adding the total price for all options to the total price for the basic requirements. Evaluation of options will not obligate the Government to exercise the option(s). (End of provision). Option is subject to the Availability of Funds. The Standard Industrial Code (SIC) for this project is 1711. The related Small Business Size Standards is $7.0 million annual receipts for the preceding three fiscal years.
