project requires the contractor to provide delivery and on-site
installation for an upgraded Temperature Monitoring System (TMS) to
enhance the existing system which is comprised of the following: 2
Leeds and Northrup (L&N) Micromax I Management Stations, 1 L&N Micromax
II Management Station, 17 independently operating local processing
units (LPUs) and 3 spare local processing units. The upgraded TMS will
comprise of the following: Replace the existing Management Stations
with three new independently operating Management Stations. As a
minimum, these new stations shall: (a.) operate on 120 VAC 60 Hz power
and have a backup power supply which will allow operation for a
minimum of two hours without normally supplied electrical power, (b.)
have 200 MHZ Pentium processors, 32 MB RAM, 3.0 MB GB Hard Drive, 1 GB
internal removable hard drive (cartridge) backup, 3 1/2 disk drive and
RS 422/485 communications port, (c.) interface with the LPUs via the RS
422/485 communications port at distances ofup to 1000 feet, various
printers via a bi-directional parallel port, and the plant's event
recorder. As a minimum, the Management Station software shall: (a.) be
capable of developing programming for and individually programming the
LPUs via the RS 422/485 communications port, (b.) be capable of
checking the programming installed to each LPU via the RS 422/485
communications port, (c.) be capable of storing data received over a
period of two days, (d.) provide for graphical analysis of temperature
versus time for each data point, a selected group of points, average
temp versus time, etc., Upgrade the LPUs, as a minimum, the improved
system shall: (a.) operate on 120 VAC 60 Hz power, (b.) operate
satisfactorily between 32 F and 120 F and humidity levels up to 100%,
(c.) be capable of operating independently of the Management System or
any other parallel LPU, (d.) be capable of storing data received
during a 24-hour period, (e.) be capable of monitoring either 10 Ohm
Copper, 100 Ohm Platinum or 1000 Ohm Platinum RTDs with only minor
hardware and/or programming changes. (f.) provide output for and
interface with the Management System via a RS 422/485 communications
port, (g.) provide output for and interface with the plant's general
alarm panel, (h.) provide at least 10 discrete outputs handling 129
VDC, (i.) upon completion of modifications, all enclosures and
connections will be drip proof with reusable gaskets/lids/covers.
Set-aside type: This is an unrestricted procurement. The standard
industrial classification code (SIC) is 3823, and size standard is 500.
Closing date for receipt of quotations will be specified in the quote
when it is issued. Request for solicitation packages must be submitted
in writing via mail or fax (912) 652-5828. Telephone requests will not
be honored. The anticipated RFQ release date will be on or about August
