synopsis@contracts.nrl.navy.mil. The Naval Research Laboratory is
developing a variety of pointable airborne digital EO/IR
(Electro-Optic/Infrared) imaging cameras view a scene at long slant
ranges and be integrated with multi/hyperspectral sensors form a common
aperture system capable of autonomous curing and imaging of military
targets . Several major pieces of capital equipment will be required to
develop and demonstrate this concept fully: high spatial and spectral
resolution visible and infrared multi/hyperspectral sensors, a
stabilized optical mount, high speed recorders, high speed processors,
an airborne platform, and a high speed digital air-to-ground
communications link. A high quality stabilized optical imaging system
suitable for flight on NRL P-3 and other aircraft is therefore
required. The high quality stabilized optical imaging system may be
designed and assembled specifically for this procurement, or may be
modification of an existing system, or may utilize existing components
or subsystems, such as existing optical telescopes, EO/IR imagers and
spectral sensors. The origin of any such existing systems, subsystems,
and components must be documented. If such existing systems,
subsystems, and components are government-owned, mechanisms for
transfer control must be identified. The delivered system must be
capable of future multi/hyperspectral operation.Technical
specifications will be included in the solicitation. Required delivery
shall be 120 days after date of award. All responsible sources may
submit an offer which will be considered. Telephone requests will not
be honored. Fax requests for this solicitation will be sent to (202)
