Contract Specialist, 615-736-7276. This project is to repair a damaged
Mooring Cell located upstream of the Kentucky Navigation Lock at
Tennessee River mile 23.6. The Mooring Cell as constructed is a steel
piling structure, approximately 30 feet in diameter, filled with stone.
The successful contractor will be required to remove the stone ballast;
remove and replace portions of the steel piling and appurtenances;
plumb the cell; and refill the Mooring Cell with stone ballast. All
work shall be accomplished from the river and the contractor shall be
held in strict compliance with the navigational requirements and
standards for working in navigable waterways. All placement of new
materials; debris removal; and water quality requirements will be
regulated by the applicable state, federal and local laws. The
principal items of work include: Removal and Placement of steel piling,
and stone removal and placement. This job is IFB No. DACW62-97-B-0018
with a duration of 4 months and is estimated in the $100,000.00 TO
$500,000.00 range. Bid documents will be available on or about 19
August 1997 at a cost of $20.00 per set. Award will be made pursuant to
DIGGS Program ( P.L. 100-656). All responsible sources may submit an
