AP -- - NOTICE OF INTENT TO NEGOTIAGE A SOLE-SOURCE PURCHASE ORDER WITH OREGON DEPARTMENT OF FISH & WILDLIFE. Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW). Purpose of contract is to collect data, monitor pinniped predation and salmon abundance in Alsea Bay and Rogue River, and provide a comprehensive written report following the standard scientific format with introduction, methods, results, discussion, conclusions, recommendations and references cited. Specifically, contractor will 1) conduct field observations on pinniped predation, scat collection, pinniped surveys, scat processing and prey identification. 2) all field data forms and sample collection will be gathered and collated weekly by ODFW to evaluate consistency of methodologies and correct identified problems. Summaries of weekly data will be provided NMFS each week during field observations. 3) following the observation season, all data will be analyzed and provided to NMFS in a comprehensive written report. Sources responding to this notice must have qualifications and experience to conduct above tasks. Period of contract is from date of award through 05/30/98.
