The first aircraft requirement is for 50,000 Great Circle Statute Miles with a capability of a minimum true cruise airspeed of 225 knots and the ability of operating to and from gravel airfields. The second aircraft requirement is for 10,000 Great Circle Statute Miles with a capability of a minimum true cruise airspeed of 290 knots and will be landing on hard surface runways of 5,000 feet or longer. The acquisition is for an 11-month performance period beginning 1 November 1997 and includes a "not to exceed" six-month performance extension as authorized by FAR 52.217-8.
