36 -- HORIZONTAL BALER/CONVEYOR SOL F40650-97-Q-0051 DUE 082997 POC Tony Clayborne, Contracting Officer, (615) 454-7841 This requirement is for the following CLINs: CLIN 0001 -- a horizontal baler/conveyor to be J.V. Manufacturing Model # HE-60-M or approved equal meeting the following salient characteristics: (1) overall length not to exceed 330 inches; (2) 48" wide conveyor belt with 12" side boards operating at up to 40 FPM; (3) minimum feed upening of 60" by 36"; (4) minimum of 52 second cycle time creating 60" X 30" X 48" bales; (5) bale weight of 1200 lb (avg) for corrugated, 1400 lb (avg) for paper; (6) pull-thru wire tie system; (7) advanced shear system; (8) heavy duty chamber door design; (9) spring loaded paper retainers to hold material in chamber and speed baling time; (10) automatic bale ejection system (full chamber ejection); (11) penetration to within 9" of door for uniform bale density; (12) automatic cycle control through high gain photo-cells (2) for accurate control; (13) seamless conveyor integration; (14) hydraulic door latching; (15) 100% full indicator; and (16) clear chamber feat. CLIN 0002—bale-tie wire to be J.V. Manufacturing Part # 00391020 or approved equal meeting the following salient characteristics: (1) 12GAX21FT. CLIN 0003 -- cart dumper with free standing pu to be J.V. Manufacturing Model # TT-0003 or approved equal with the following salient characteristics: (1) side loading; (2) adjustable for different container types; (3) footprint of 77.5" length and 127" height (including swing radius with container attached). CLIN 0004 -- installation and training: includes off loading of baler/conveyor and associated equipment, placement, wiring from unit to distribution box, all maintenance required for initial operation, 8 hour training session overviewing maintenance and operation (provided to a maximum of 15 operators). The performance period will be 60 calendar days after contractor receipt of notification of contract award. Any responsible source may submit a bid which shall be considered.
