The Air Force Flight Test Center (AFFTC) has an immediate requirement for a type 9MR, LPPS upgrade, quantity one, for a Low Pressure Plasma Spray System. The upgrade components include 1) two (2) each 9MP dual power supply units with the capability of a minimum of 1200 AMPS, a high frequency starter system, and a modified control system for installation into the existing LPPS unit; 2) all cables necessary for installation; 3) a modified software package which allows manual control capabilities to the Primary Logic Controller (PLC) on the existing LPPS unit. The modifications shall permit gun start/stop without system shutdown, finer adjustments of gas flows, and accepts wider tolerances during system operations. The Air Force Flight Test Center intends to purchase the LPPS upgrade components from Sultzer Metco Inc., 1101 Prospect Ave, Westbury, NY 11590, unless responses to this notice reveal additional sources capable of supplying the LPPS upgrade with equivalent specifications. The Simplified Acquisition Procedure (SAP) will be used in awarding this contract by written quotation.
