Radiographic Imaging System in accordance with NSWC Purchase
Description. This system will, in most cases, replace radiographic
film. The system will essentially replace film with phosphor screens
which will allow radiographic images to be digitized. These digitized
images can then be viewed, analyzed, enhanced, and archived by
computer. This system will be used to image a variety of components
including ordnance items such as bombs, warheads, detonation devices,
and fuzes, as well as metal fabrications such as weldments, castings,
and forgings. At a minimum, the Equivalent Penetrameter Sensitivity
(EPS) for the system will be between 1 and 2 percent, or better, at
x-ray energy ranges of 80 kilovolts (KV) to 8 million electron volts
(MeV). Speed is also critical. Speed will be rated by the amount of
time necessary to scan the screen (acquire the image) and to erase it.
Maximum time for this should be no more than 10 minutes. Solicitation
N00164-97-R-0171 to be issued on or about August 15, 1997. All
responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by
the agency. (0211) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0370 19970804\66-0003.SOL)
