E-MAIL: NIST Contracts Office, Contract@nist.gov. The National
Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) has a requirement for
Standard Reference Material (SRM) Gases. The requested materials are
required for the orderly restock of NIST's gas SRMs. Nearly eighty
different gas SRMs are provided to industry and other Government
agencies in the U.S. and throughout the world through the Standard
Reference Materials Program. These gas SRMs are primarily intended for
the calibration of instruments and the evaluation of methods used for
the determination of harmful constituents in mobile source emissions
or emissions from industrial processes. They are also a part of the
compliance requirements for many Federal and State regulations. As part
of its Congressional mandate, NIST must produce and maintain stock
levels of these gas SRMs, ensuring the long term adequacy and integrity
of quality measurement. Complete specifications will be included with
the solicitation. An Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ)
type contract is anticipated, with the possibility of multiple awards
of 2 or 3. Individual delivery orders will be placed against the
contract(s). The period of performance will be one base year beginning
October 1, 1997, with four 1-year options. The applicable SIC code is
2813, with a size standard of 1000 employees. All responsible sources
may submit a proposal which will be considered by the agency. All
requests for the solicitation must be in writing. Requests may be
submitted via facisimile to (301) 963-7732. (0211) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0402 19970804\68-0001.SOL)
