The Government intends to purchase on a sole source basis the following software and software support items manufactured and provided by Green Hills Software Inc. The Government requires software and support to be completely consistent and compatible with the existing Government environment. The items are (1) p/n TORNSRV-PPC, Green Hills WRS TORNADO SERVER LICENSE ON SUN SOLARIS 2.5.1 or higher (6 each); (2) p/n TORNSRV-PPC, Green Hills WRS TORNADO SERVER on SUN one (1) year annual software maintenance (6 each); (3) p/n P/NGF-PPC, Green Hills optimizing fortran compiler and multi for PPC family, floating license on SUN SOLARIS 2.5.1 or higher (2 each); (4) p/n GF-PPC, Green Hills optimizing fortran compiler and multi for PPC family, floating license on SUN SOLARIS 2.5.1 or higher one (1) year annual software maintenance (2 each). The software and annual software support/maintenance shall be in accordance with Green Hills Binary Software License and Maintenance Agreement G20080. Green Hills Software Inc. is the proprietary and only known source to provide this software and support. This Green Hills Wind River Systems (WRS) Tornado, Fortran compiler, and multi software upgrade is an upgrade to our current in-house Wind River Systems operating system environment. Since the Government's software development environment, SLBM's Distributed Graphics Network (DGSNET) is running Sun Microsystems Solaris 2.x operating system platforms, the Government's tactical FCS environment is unable to support current and future simulation models, fleet media, and targeting data from SLBM's DGSNET. This tactical operating system software upgrade is essential so that the Government's tactical FCS environment will be able to support Solarix 2.x software simulation models, fleet media, and targeting data from the DGSNET software development environment. Therefore, the Government's tactical FCS is unable to support current and future mission reqirements. Green Hills Software Inc. is the only commercial vendor identified that supports Solaris 2.x operating system target software in the VxWorks tactical operating system on the Motorola PowerPC 603 chip. Complete system capability and compatibility is absolutely necessary. Award is to be made utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
