Design and engineering have been completed. Project includes grade and drain and asphaltic surfacing of a parking Lot. Work includes corrugated metal pipes, sidewalk installation, signage, and temporary and permanent erosion control. The site is located one half mile east of Walters, Oklahoma and is located in Comanche Tribal land. The estimated cost of construction is between $50,000-$150,000. Parties interested in submitting bids may request bid packages after the date of July 31, 1997 in writing or by phone from the Contracting Officer, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Anadarko Area Office, P.O. Box 368, Anadarko, OK 73005, telephone no. 405-247-6673, ext. 227. Project to be completed no later than 90 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Section 7(b) of the Public Law 93-638 (25 U.S.C. 450E) and 41 CFR 14-1.354 requires that preference opportunities in employment and training be given to Indian/Alaskan individuals and that preference in the award of subcontracts be given to Indian/Alaskan economic enterprises. The Comanche Tirbe of Oklahoma does have an approved Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance and tax in effect, that the successful bidder must comply with. Failure by the contractor to submit a plan for doing so prior to award and implementing the same after award shall be sufficient reason for non-award or termination of the contract for default.
