Z -- EXTERIOR COATING BUILDINGS 1, 1A, 3, 4 SOL 678-54-97 DUE 091897 POC John Clarno, 520-629-4614 Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision and transportation required to repair and refinish the exterior stucco surfaces of Buildings 1, 1a, 3, and 4, providing a protective waterproofing elastomeric coating system which is to be warranted by both the contractor and manufacturer for a period of 10 years. The existing exterior coatings of Buildings 1, 3, and 4 contain asbestos and portions thereof are cracked and peeling. The contractor shall be required to remove failed portions of the existing exterior coating system in accordance with all local, state and federal regulations pertaining to the removal and disposal of asbestos containing materials. Other exterior finishes such as wood trim, columns, door frames and jambs and rafters, and decorative wrought iron work and railings, shall also be refinished as part of this project. Work also includes the demolition and replacement of 5 double doors and 4 single doors, refurbish of the red stamped concrete walk, and power washing and painting of the underside of the cover, all located around the patio area. Completion time is 300 days after receipt of notice to proceed. Cost range of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. Bid documents will be issued on or about August 18, 1997 and must be requested in writing or by FAX at 520-629-4723. A MANDATORY pre-bid conference has been scheduled for September 4, 1997 at 8:00 AM Mountain Standard Time meeting in the auditorium of Building 4.
