Owens (757) 322-4500 The work includes replacement of existing underground POL lines with new above ground lines and related work. The underground lines shall remain in place, capped below grade, and shall be cleaned and filled with grout. Removal of asbestos containing pipe coatings is required. Paint on piping and structures contains lead. New POL lines shall tie-in to existing systems at pump pits,buildings and tanks. Two new POL loading stations with a canopy, spill pad, and underground oil/water separator shall be included. New load controls shall be required and shall interface with one new pump and existing pumps as indicated. An existing valve manifold which handles the switching of all product flow at the site shall be replaced with a new manifold. A new POL pump shall be included. A new parking area with an underground oil/water separator shall be constructed and the existing pavement area repaired. New storm water lines and modifications to existing storm water lines shall be included. New bridge crossings, modifications to roadways, pump pit additions, and new pipe supports shall be included. Lighting of various areas shall be required. The work involves systems which handle flammable liquids. Plans and specifications will be available on or about 18 August 1997. A check or money order for $25.00 payable to the Treasury of the United States is required as a non-refundable charge for each set of bidding data.
