Z -- REMOVE ASBESTOS/PHASE 6 SOL IFB 613-60-97 DUE 091697 POC Bertha Geraghty Furnish all labor, tools, material, equipment, supplies and supervision to remove approx. 1500 LF of preformed asbestos pipe insulation and approx. 750 LF of aircell ACM pipe insulation from the steam tunnels in various buildings at VA Medical Center, Martinsburg, WV in accordance with specifications and drawings. Work also includes removal of pipe elbow and clean-up of debris on floor. All insulation is to be replaced with new fiberglass. Contractor must be capable of meeting all EPA, OSHA and other standards relating to asbestos removal. Contractor is responsible for continuous air monitoring, containment areas, pre and final air sampling for project. Contractor must have access to Certified Industrial Hygienist services and lab for analysis of samples and construction services as required by State and Federal regulations. Standard Industrial Classification No. 1799 is applicable. Cost range is $100,000 -- $250,000. Issue date is approx. 8/11/97 and BOD is approx. 9/17/97. Full and Open Competition will be utilized.
