a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in
accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in
this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation;
Quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be
issued. The solicitation document and incorporated prevision and
clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAR)
90-46. This solicitation is being issued under Request for Quotation
(RFQ) #70419. This solicitation is under the Simplified Acquisition
Procedures (SAP) for Small Business-Small Purchase Set-Aside. The
Standard Industrial Classification is 3548, and the Business Size
Standard is 500 employees. This will be a Firm-Fixed Price Contract.
The requirement is for 58 soldering stations each that will met the
following requirements: Must have a minimum of three independent
channels, Each channel must be a minimum of 150 watts, Must meet
MIL-STD-2000, Must be electromagnetic static discharge (ESD) safe,
Temperature must be displayed in either Fahrenheit or Celsius, Must
have an automatic shut-off feature, Channel settings must be retained
in a non-volatile memory, Must have a hot gas reflow capability, Must
have a integrated vacuum supply, Must include a handpiece capable of
reflowing and removing PLCC's and other surface mount device (SMD)
components. Standard one year warranty or better. Destination-FOB --
Destination delivery to various Field Offices throughout U.S., Alaska,
Puerto Rico and Hawaii -- All bids shall be submitted to the address
listed above no later than 4:30pm EST, August 11, 1997, and be clearly
marked with RFQ#70419. The point of contact for all information is

listed above. Also, all potential bidders are hereby notified that due
to security requirements, Federal Express, D.H.L., UPS, ETC., delivers
for the FBI Headquarters facility are now received at an off-site
location. Therefore, the normal response time of 15 days has been
extended to 20 days. The FBI has allowed five (5) extra days from the
release of this CBD synopsis/solicitation for receipt of a bid. Bidders
are hereby notified that if your bid is not received by the date/time
and at the location specified in this announcement, that it will be
considered late. The award will be made to the responsive, responsible
offeror submitting the lowest priced technically acceptable offer and
meeting all terms and condition set forth in this solicitation. Each
offeror shall include a completed copy of the FAR provisions at
52.213.3 Offeror Representation and Certifications -- Commercial Item
(June 1996); clause FAR 52.212.4 Contract Terms and Conditions --
Commercial Item (August 1996) is incorporated by reference and apply to
