Burks, Contracting Officer, (703) 325-6684 The Defense Special Weapons Agency (DSWA) has completed research, development, testing and evaluation efforts on the SFE system. DSWA is now seeking to transfer this technology to the private sector. This effort was competed prior to this announcement and is now being recompeted. This instrument has been developed in response to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) request for on-site preparation of chemical analysis sample in conjunction with verification efforts. A commercial vendor must be identifiedthat can produce the SFE system and satisfy anticipated OPCW demands to purchase the instrument. The anticipated period of performance is 12 months. This effort is unclassified. It is anticipated that a preproposal conference will take place subsequent to the release of the solicitation.
