Any award will be for an indefinite quatity contract; min. 1500 acres/max. 3000 acres. Treatment areas range from 10 to 30 percent slope and the slash will be moderate over most of the areas. Areas will be flagged with orange ribbon and maps will be provided at time of task orders. Slash materials include vegetative and woody material on the ground and standing dead material with a DBH of 6 inches or less. Equipment to be used shall have a power driven rotary head and be capable of chopping, chewing or grinding wood fiber up to and including 7 inches in diameter and also be able to maneuver within tree spacing of 14 to 16 feet without damaging leave trees. Ninety percent of all concentrations of slash shall be treated. Task orders will be issued from time of award through June 1998. The Contractor shall accomplish an average of 10 acres per day. Payment will be based on accepted completed units. The government will offer award to the responsible quoter whose quote conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government. Past experience and past performance will be a determining factor in the evaluation process. The Government may offer award to other than the lowest quoter, waive minor informalities or irregularities, or elect to not award at all. Contract award will incorporate applicable clauses and provisions such as current DOL wage rates, fire prevention requirements, Federal Acquisition Regulation and the like.
