SALE OF NATURAL URANIUM HEXAFLUORIDE The United States Department of Energy (DOE) has in its possession, available for sale for domestic or foreign end use, natural uranium hexafluoride (UF6). The DOE, on behalf of the United States Government, invites all qualified interested parties to submit offers for the purchase of the materials and services. The quantity available for sale consists of up to 1 million pounds U3O8 equivalent in the form of natural UF6 and up to 382,721 kgU as Conversion Services in the form of natural UF6. The material offered for sale is of U.S. origin, is currently in the form of natural UF6, is for delivery to the winning bidder(s) not later than September 30, 1999, and is warranted to meet ASTM specifications. It is our intention to release the Invitation for Bid (IFB) in late August, 1997. Requests for inclusion on the mailing list for the IFB should be received no later than close of business August 7, 1997. IFB will be available via hard copy or on the web.
