Administration plans to issue a competitive 8(a)solicitation for the
acquisition of janitorial and related services at the Social Security
Administration's West High Rise and West Low Rise Buildings in
Baltimore, Maryland. The requirement will be processed as a Commercial
Item acquisition and will be subject to FAR Part 12. The contractor
shall provide all necessary management, supervision, human resources,
materials, equipment and supplies to perform janitorial and related
services. Services will include, but are not limited to: cleaning of
occupiable areas, support areas, outside grounds, and garage parking
areas; insect and rodent control; and, other related services. Work
shall be accomplished between the hours of 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM within
the normal five day week, federal holidays excluded. The total square
footage of the buildings is 363,234 SF. The services will be required
for a base period of 12 months with four additional 12-month renewable
option periods. The Government plans to evaluate offers based on
Experience, Past Performance and Price. The requirement will be
processed through the Small Business Administration (SBA) and has been
set-aside for the 8(a) program. The applicable Standard Industrial
Classification (SIC) Code is 7349 with average annual receipts not
exceeding $12 million in the preceding three years. Interested 8(a)
firms are encouraged to request a copy of the solicitation as
expeditiously as possible since the solicitation will be issued without
further notice upon SBA acceptance of the requirement for the section
8(a) program. It is anticipated that solicitation #SSA-RFP-98-3288 will
be issued on or about August 18, 1997 with proposals due 30 days later.

and Grants (OAG) Bulletin Board System which can be accessed by dialing
